Nathalia Garrigan approached us to design a clean logo for her interior design and remodeling company. As an up and coming remodeler in Houston, she wanted to remember where she came from, Mexico. She remembers a childhood full of colorful homes and handmade tiles, and she wanted to show her culture and design influence through her logo as she does in her work.
We shadowed her in her work to guide our inspiration for the logo. In our time together, she expressed to us how much she loved the care and artistic elements of Talavera tiles, the ones she grew up around. With this, we knew her logo had to be Talavera tile-influenced to represent the artful care she places into every project.
Logo Design Development
After creating a mood board of images of Talavera tiles, we began to design a logo inspired from the many tiles. We wanted to combine different styles and variations found in the diverse catalog to represent Nathalia's diverse capabilities. We used the color blue, which was the most commonly found color on Talavera tiles, for her brand colors, and a serifed font to represent her traditional design style.
